The Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies (AIAS) was founded in 1999 in Auckland, New Zealand, and is proud to be the only exclusive Ayurvedic training institute in Australasia. The AIAS is an educational and promotional Institute that follows the traditional Vedic philosophy of life. In recent years, AIAS has been responding to an increased demand for quality training programs in New Zealand. Ultimately, this has led to AIAS becoming a Registered Training Organisation delivering nationally recognised qualifications under the HLT02 Health Training Package and the NZQA. The process of becoming a registered nationally recognised training provider is a rigorous one where all aspects of our organisation, teaching and assessment methods are scrutinised against exacting national standards.

This registration carries with it an obligation for Continuous Quality Improvement. AIAS is committed to maintaining the high standards set in order to guarantee that all graduates attain a high level of practitioner expertise and experience.

In order to accomplish its many objectives, the A.I.A.S has several departments.

The Educational Department: offers the Ayurvedic Studies Programmes for different levels such as Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant Training, Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner Training. These courses are designed by Dr Ajit according the guidelines set by the Central Council of Ayurvedic Medicine (India) and assessed to the standards set for the HLT2 Health Training Package qualifications. These courses are offered by Distance Learning, Face-To-Face Intensive Workshops or Full-Time study.

The Herbal Department: offers Ayurvedic herbs and books and a variety of authentic Ayurvedic Products including capsules, tablets, churnas, asavas and arishtas, oils, spices and beauty products for retail and wholesale. v The Panchkarma Department: offers traditional procedures for purification and rejuvenation that include oil massage, herbal steam treatment, cleansing diet and herbal therapy.
